Congratulations and good luck to West Heaton's new President for 2022-23 Jane Philpott and thank you and well done to retiring President Jo Taylor. Congratulations also to new Vice President Steve Woosey who will take over as President this time next year.

On a glorious day on 2nd April, we were finally able to hold our first traditional seasonal opening day since 2019, and a great day we had. New President Jane gave us a really uplifting start with fun and music (we won't mention the serve Jane!). She had hit with son Chris to formally open the summer tennis season having started the Bowling season with the famous Oundle bowls.
The subsequent bowling competition was won by Jean Robinson (her first comp win) and Ian Colclough, with Sue Mansfield and David Delahunty runners up.
Tennis was won by Marina Jones and George Riley, with Chloe Foley and Paul Wilcox runners up.
The downside of getting to the Finals of course was that it delayed those players getting to the bar and the lovely buffet provided by the members, thank you!
As Jane tells members in her handbook notes, we now have the freedom to fully enjoy our fabulous facilities after two difficult years of Covid restrictions.
Six first rate tennis courts, a top-class bowling green and fully opened squash courts. It really is “all to play for” so let’s enjoy a full return.
The future also looks exciting. 2023 will be West Heaton's 150th year, a special time to share in the club’s history. So much to plan for, to celebrate and so much to enjoy.
