West Heaton’s Annual Tennis Tournament won the Tennis Lancashire Competition of the Year Award this year. President Jo Taylor and Alan Mansfield attended the Awards Presentation and buffet on Sunday 12th December to receive the award.
We now have a very smart trophy in the cabinet and a certificate to put up on the wall in the clubhouse. Our entry will now be considered for the regional awards.
The Awards Committee were particularly impressed with the diversity of participants demonstrating the welcoming nature of the tournament. They also praised the involvement of new members and the use of our website to provide daily information on match results and scheduling.
This is well deserved recognition of all the hard work that goes in to organising the tournament. Congratulations to the tournament team: Organisers Alan Mansfield and Martin Sharman with support from Sofia Milone and Julie Woosey.
